Thank You
Having eyes to see what we have been given
Philippians 4:8
The gentle touch of a friend. The surprise birthday party. A wonderful meal. A quiet walk. A stimulating conversation. 3 packs of Cheese Ring. A simple letter. A mellow sunset. A little stuff toy. A moment of solitude. A childhood memory. A gripping book. A memorable ring. An inspiration. A rainbow connection. Appropriate timing in doing good. A sense of Gods presence. A simulating project. Receiving unexpected gift. A copy of D.OH newspaper. Worship. Play. Prayer. Silence. Work. Love. Peace. Friendship. Family.
As I allow my mind to wander over the many facets of my life, I cannot but help be amazed. Here and there are the marks of love, the sign of goodness, and the indications of grace. Here and there are the gifts of compassion, the fruit of service, the signs of hope, the gift of new friendship I found in you, the blessings undeserved. Every time I experience real goodness or gentleness I know it is a gift.
But we need eyes to see and a heart to appreciate what has been given to us. We can rush past. We can so bent on wanting more through comparing ourselves with others that we fail to enjoy the good that has already been placed in our hands.
Thankfulness cannot be an occasional addendum. It is a way of life in which the present is celebrated, the giver is thanked, and we live with a sense of amazement that so much has been placed in such undeserving hands.
To all of youthank you so much
